I saw this web a couple of days ago ... for all of a few seconds. I noticed it as the sun broke through the trees behind the deck and with wind, intermittent clouds and the angle of the sun peeking through the trees, it was only visible for those scant seconds. I caught another glimpse of it yesterday and it was the same story .. there one second and apparently gone the next. So, not having errands to run or a work schedule to meet on a holiday weekend Saturday, I went to it and studied it for a bit with trying to capture a photo in mind. That proved more difficult and challenging than I'd expected. And, believe it or not, when I picked up camera and tripod and called it time to quit, I genuinely didn't think I had a shot like this. The web is so fine and so difficult to see at anything but the precise angle that it catches a little light, that I wasn't able to see it on the camera's LCD. Only when I brought the shots I took inside and displayed them on the computer screen was I able to see the definition of the web. I've got another shot, slightly closer, that I'll bore you with tomorrow. Of the two dozen or so shots I took during the few minutes the sun was flirting with the web, I kept only this one and tomorrow's shot. So ... it's Labor Day weekend and I'll be letting the system handle this and the next update on what passes for auto-pilot. With a bit of luck and a lot of effort, I ought to have something different (meaning fresh) to share on Monday . . .
